Popcorn ceilings or Acoustic ceilings can be difficult to remove and in some areas of San Diego asbestos can be a concern, often making it important to text for it before disturbing the surface . Here at Burke Painting we will mask off the floor and the walls before we remove the texture then we will spray it with water to make it easier to remove from the drywall. Now if the texture was applied on to a plaster ceiling this will make it close to impossible to remove and we recommend skimming over the surface with mud after priming opposed to scrapinging it off. Some textures that we put in its place can be skip trowel, orange peel, knock down and many other custom done by hand textures.
